Wedding Consultation

I've gotten to meet with 2 sweet Brides and Grooms this month.  I can't wait to do their wedding cakes!

Florida Gators Cupcakes

I love doing cupcakes!  They are so customizable.  A friend of mine asked if I'd do some cupcakes for her hubby's birthday this past weekend.  He's a Gators fan.  =)  I love the way they turned out!

Cake was Vanilla with Coconut Butter Cream.  YUM!

Teal and Zebra Cake / Cupcakes

I just love girly cakes!  I've done many zebra cakes, but not one using this method.  For Christmas, my Mom got me The Mat from Sweet Wise.  I love it!  It's basically 2 big 'ol sheets of food-safe vinyl that you roll the fondant out between.  Because I had this, I was able to roll the stripes into the white, making it a smooth finish.  I love the way it turned out!

Cake and Cupcakes were Red Velvet with Cream Cheese Filling.

Giraffe Cake

This was a fun one!  I love making little characters from fondant!  It's definitely a trial and error deal, but it comes out in the end...  I made this for a 23 year old who loves the 'kid giraffes'.  I tried to 'adult it up' a little. =)

It's white cake with coconut butter cream covered in fondant.  That cute little giraffe is a fondant/gumpaste mix.  She (or he?) was the third one I made...  I wanted to get it just right... part of being a perfectionist, I guess....

Flower Cake

Some girls and I threw a little surprise party for our friend this weekend.  Aaaaand, as a cake maker, my 'job'/'gift' is always a cake!  =)  After gathering ideas in my head (and from Pinterest), I came up with an idea for her cake.  I love the way it turned out.

It's strawberry cake made with fresh strawberries and covered in orange butter cream.  It was so moist and delicious.  Like I've said before... I love getting to go to the party and actually eat the cake!  Man, I can't get enough!!!

Cute Little Monkey Cake

This weekend, I got to make a cute little monkey cake for a 1 yr. old to SMASH!  Partnering up with my photographer friend, Rebecca, who owns Soul Focus Photography, I made a cake for her smash session.  If you haven't seen her work, she's amazing, you can check her out here!  She does all my photos for my cakes!  Thanks Rebecca!

So for the cake...  I made a chocolate cake, cuz all kids like chocolate, right?!  And it makes for great photos while smashing.  I hand crafted that cute little monkey from fondant. It was a trial and error to get him juuuust right.  But I always work until I'm satisfied...  Even if it's til 4am...  :o
